About the Role

Amazon Saudi Arabia is seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Officer to join its team in Jeddah, Dammam, or Riyadh. This full-time role involves partnering with site operations teams in delivery stations to implement company safety policies and ensure compliance with all applicable local and regional regulations. The officer will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risks, fostering a safe working environment for Associates.

Role Responsibilities

The Workplace Health and Safety Officer will build trust with the Operations Team and drive change through comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS standards and policies.
• Measuring site performance against published safety policy requirements and developing implementation plans for identified deficiencies.
• Delivering timely and high-quality projects to Operations.
• Analyzing safety metrics and reviewing weekly and monthly incident trends to allocate resources effectively to high-risk areas.
• Ensuring proper incident investigation and closure of corrective and preventive actions.
• Performing frequent site safety audits to identify non-compliant equipment or processes and implementing solutions to eliminate risks.
• Auditing record-keeping practices to ensure alignment with global WHS standards and local regulations.
• Auditing workplace organization and Associate behaviors to ensure accuracy and consistency in training, auditing, and scoring methods.
• Leading and mentoring Safety Associates within the assigned facility during peak periods.
• Seeking input from Safety teams, Associates, and leaders on safety program improvement opportunities and ensuring open communication on progress.

Required Skills and Expertise

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and expertise in safety programs, environmental regulations, and ergonomics. The role requires the ability to instruct and train Operations Leaders in Amazon WHS policies and assist site teams in incorporating safety standards. Identifying and integrating best practices into existing standards for continuous improvement is also essential.

• Ability to work in shifts as required.

Reporting Structure

The Workplace Health and Safety Officer will be an integral part of the site WHS team and will report directly to the Site WHS Manager.
