About Red Sea Global

Red Sea Global is seeking an Assistant Boat Captain for its dive center operations in Umluj, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This full-time, site-based role is integral to ensuring the safe, efficient, and professional functioning of dive center vessels within a luxury marine tourism environment.

Role Summary

The Assistant Boat Captain works closely with the Boat Captain to support daily marine operations. This position focuses on maintaining the highest standards of safety, guest experience, and vessel readiness. Key responsibilities include supporting navigation, vessel preparation, and dive logistics, alongside contributing to the upkeep, cleanliness, and maintenance of all marine assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Boat Captain in the safe navigation and operation of all dive center vessels.
  • Assist with daily vessel preparation, ensuring readiness, safety compliance, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of vessels (interior and exterior) to a high standard.
  • Assist with mooring, anchoring, docking, and vessel handling as directed.
  • Support dive center operations, including cylinder handling, equipment loading/unloading, and general organization.
  • Contribute to a positive and professional onboard environment for guests and crew.
  • Assist in the setup and readiness of marine assets prior to operations.
  • Develop familiarity with local navigation routes, dive sites, and marine conditions.
  • Assist in the safe embarkation and disembarkation of guests, and support diver drop-offs and pick-ups in accordance with established protocols.
  • Monitor safety conditions onboard, conduct routine checks on safety equipment, and report any deficiencies or risks.
  • Assist in maintaining vessel logs, checklists, daily operational records, and maintenance logs.
  • Support basic troubleshooting of vessels and outboard engines where applicable.
  • Ensure all equipment and onboard areas are properly secured and maintained.
  • Adhere to all marine safety standards, emergency procedures, and operational protocols, supporting safety drills and emergency preparedness.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote responsible marine practices.
  • Report incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly to the Boat Captain and management.
  • Actively contribute to team development, operational best practices, and initiatives aimed at improving efficiency, safety, and guest experience.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Relevant marine or boating experience, preferably within a dive or tourism environment.
  • Experience supporting boat operations or working as a deckhand is preferred.

Work Environment and Conditions

This role operates in a physically demanding, outdoor marine environment. It requires flexibility to work extended hours, including weekends and peak seasons. The position involves daily on-water activities and exposure to varying weather and sea conditions. This role also offers a development pathway toward a Boat Captain position.
