Lead Electrical Engineer

About the Role

NEOM Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join its Operations team. This full-time position is based in Oxagon, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia, within the Neom Region. The role involves critical support for electrical systems throughout their lifecycle, from design review to commissioning and ongoing operational support, ensuring reliable and safe plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively participate in plant safety programs, promoting safety regulations and environmental compliance.
• Ensure all electrical designs and systems adhere to relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Develop and implement procedures for the preservation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
• Provide scope of work for electrical systems during shutdowns and turnarounds to enhance plant availability and integrity.
• Lead or support investigations related to electrical equipment failures, including the development of follow-up actions.
• Provide technical support to the operations team, analyzing equipment performance and operative conditions.
• Monitor equipment health and performance, conducting engineering studies and risk-based analyses to recommend improvements.
• Assist in developing preventative and predictive maintenance programs for electrical equipment.
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment failures and performance issues.
• Provide engineering support for spares, repairs, upgrades, and field service for all electrical equipment types.
• Develop and deploy standard best practices and provide hands-on and supervisory support for field problems.
• Participate in plant commissioning and start-up activities.
• Provide technical clarification and approval with vendors for requisitions.
• Deliver technical training to engineers, operations, and maintenance personnel.
• Work on engineering details of electrical equipment, including technical specifications.
• Provide on-call support during plant emergency shutdowns, analyzing and troubleshooting equipment trips.
• Develop Scope of Work (SOW) for external repairs, major overhauls, and centralized PM service contracts for critical electrical equipment (*, UPS, motors, transformers, rectifiers).

Project Involvement

The Lead Electrical Engineer will actively participate in the design review, Factory Acceptance Tests, commissioning, and start-up phases for electrical equipment at the world's largest H2 production site. This facility will integrate H2, ammonia, and ASU production units. The role also involves contributing to the development of preventive maintenance plans, procedures, and policies for the correct use and maintainability of all electrical equipment.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in electrical engineering roles.
• Expertise in electrical safety, hazardous area classification, protection systems, motors, AC/DC systems, power system analysis, electrical studies, and industry standards.

Reporting Structure

This position reports directly to the NGHC Operations Director.

People Management

The Lead Electrical Engineer will manage contractors providing electrical maintenance services.
