About the EOD Instructor Role

BAE Systems Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced EOD Instructor to join their team in Taif. This full-time position requires a candidate with over 10 years of relevant experience to provide specialized training and expertise in Explosive Ordnance Disposal.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The EOD Instructor will be responsible for imparting theoretical knowledge and providing Subject Matter Expert (SME) advice on routine peacetime explosive ordnance disposal (non-incident related) of RSAF Munitions to the RSAF Shop Chief. A key aspect of this role involves preparing and conducting practical and classroom training sessions. These training sessions will exclusively utilize inert munitions, equipment, and training devices. The instructor will also advise the RSAF on safety protocols, identifying situations where an EOD operation or practice is considered unsafe and implementing necessary precautions to protect personnel. It is critical to note that EOD Instructors are strictly precluded from any ‘hands on’ activities involving the use of live explosives or munitions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must possess a formal qualification in Explosives Ordnance Disposal (EOD) and have accumulated at least nine years of experience working specifically on aircraft armament and munitions. A minimum of three years, with a preference for four years, of practical EOD experience is essential. A mandatory background as an ex RSAF Chief Warrant Officer (Skill level 9) or RAF EOD Team SNCO is required. The latest practical experience must have been gained no earlier than one year prior to taking up the position with the RSAF.

Essential Training and Knowledge

Successful graduation from military EOD courses is a prerequisite. This training should encompass areas such as base recovery after attack, foreign ordnance, chemical and improvised explosive devices, and render safe and disposal procedures. The instructor must possess a thorough knowledge of weapons and munitions within the RSAF inventory relevant to the assigned UMD position. Additionally, the candidate must be qualified to conduct On-the-Job (OJT) Training in accordance with RSAFM 105-8 and have successfully completed an Instructional Techniques course.
