About the Role

This Tank Superintendent position is critical for overseeing construction contractor activities related to tank construction, ensuring adherence to project schedules, specifications, safety, and quality standards. The role involves the overall management and coordination of contractors to maximize productivity and maintain project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate construction contractors for assigned tank construction works to maximize productivity and maintain the project schedule.
  • Report daily to the Construction Manager and the Project Management team on progress and activities.
  • Monitor and ensure all work is completed in accordance with the Contractors’ Project Execution and HSE Management Plans, ensuring full compliance.
  • Supervise the execution of site-built tanks construction work assigned to the role.
  • Assist with the detailed planning and day-to-day direction of field activities.
  • Review resource forecasting to ensure the adequate and timely supply of materials, equipment, and manpower.
  • Review and report to management on potential costs and trends identified in construction activities.
  • Ensure the alignment of the Contractor’s construction schedules, methods, adequate resourcing, and material and equipment requirements.
  • Monitor the Contractor's scope for any potential changes to scope, cost, time, and schedule.
  • In conjunction with the field planner, ensure the execution plan for each schedule activity is logical, achievable, and adequately resourced.
  • Facilitate effective communication with various project stakeholders.
  • Maintain regular communication and liaison with the Construction Manager regarding field activities and potential or existing problems that may affect work performance.
  • Establish and maintain positive working relationships with the Contractor.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, procedures, and terms and conditions of the Contract.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction industry practices for the erection and testing of field-erected tanks and structural steel.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, with a preference for candidates with 10-15 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in safety implementation with a track record of successful safety performance.
  • Solid experience and performance in quality assurance is essential.
