Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer SME

About the Role

HUDSON is seeking a Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer – SME to join their team in Yanbu, Medina Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and offers a salary range of SAR 8,000 - SAR 10,000 per month. The role involves providing technical expertise for rotating equipment during Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), FMEA/FMECA, and various reliability studies.

Role Purpose and Context

The Rotating Equipment Mechanical Engineer – SME will support the identification of equipment functions, functional failures, failure modes, and failure mechanisms. This includes defining appropriate maintenance strategies aimed at improving reliability, availability, safety, and lifecycle performance of rotating equipment within the operational context.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the technical authority for rotating equipment during RCM, FMEA, and reliability workshops.
• Define and validate equipment functions, performance standards, and functional failures.
• Identify credible failure modes, failure mechanisms, and degradation processes for rotating equipment.
• Evaluate equipment failure consequences related to safety, environment, production, and maintenance costs.
• Review equipment history, bad actor reports, vibration data, oil analysis reports, and inspection findings.
• Recommend appropriate maintenance strategies, including Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Condition-Based Maintenance (CBM), Preventive Maintenance (PM), Failure Finding (FF), and Run-to-Failure (RTF).
• Assess maintenance intervals based on equipment criticality, failure characteristics, and operating context.
• Review OEM recommendations and industry best practices.
• Support Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) for recurring equipment failures.
• Validate maintenance tasks and spare-parts requirements generated from RCM studies.
• Identify reliability improvement opportunities and equipment design enhancements.
• Provide technical guidance on risk mitigation and equipment lifecycle management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 5-10 years of relevant and verifiable experience in a similar role.
• Candidates without previous RCM experience may be considered, but under the minimum gross salary.
