Anesthesia Technician

About the Role

Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib (HMG) is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to join their team. This permanent role involves supporting anesthesia providers with equipment, medications, and supplies, as well as assisting with patient care and department support activities. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the attending anesthesiologist in patient consultations and record relevant medical history.
• Support the anesthesia care team, particularly the anesthesiologist.
• Aid the anesthesia team in assembling equipment and supplies for anesthesia administration.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot anesthesia-related equipment and the workroom.
• Operate electronic, mechanical, and other technical equipment during operations.
• Ensure anesthesia supplies are stocked and maintain records of supplies used.
• Change soda lime and compressed gas cylinders, and replace EKG electrodes, breathing circuits, and suction apparatus after each case.
• Monitor and record patient's vital signs, including breathing, heart rhythm, temperature, and blood pressure.
• Conduct periodical inspections of devices, reporting any inconsistencies to the attending anesthesiologist immediately.
• Adjust electronic equipment and sterilize anesthesia machinery prior to surgery.
• Follow specific instructions from the physician as part of pre-operative procedures.
• Receive and store supplies and pharmaceuticals in appropriate locations.
• Maintain a clean working environment and adhere to all hospital policies and procedures.
• Provide patient and family education as needed.
• Participate in person-centered care initiatives undertaken by HMG.
• Contribute to enriching patient experience with compassion, respect, and dignity.
• Perform other related duties applicable to the department and as requested by the head of department.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: Diploma in Anaesthesia.
• Experience: 2-5 years of experience in a related field.
