About the Role

YO IT Consulting is seeking an Arabic Quality Assurance Lead for a remote, contract role. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing the quality, consistency, and trainer performance across various Arabic AI training projects. Your leadership will contribute to the enhancement of leading AI models by ensuring Arabic training data is natural, accurate, culturally appropriate, well-documented, and aligned with client expectations. This role is with a rapidly growing AI Data Services company that provides training data for major AI companies and foundation-model labs.

Role Overview and Process

This is a contract position with an hourly rate, conducted remotely. The selection process includes an AI interview, a domain-specific task, and an interview with a recruiter. While there is no immediate project assigned to this role, qualified candidates will be prioritized for future relevant opportunities and gain access to our expert network for upcoming projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct spot-checks of Arabic content, identify quality issues, and provide ongoing feedback.
• Escalate recurring or critical quality concerns.
• Communicate project updates, guideline changes, and quality expectations to trainers and QAs via Discord.
• Address trainer and QA inquiries promptly, particularly regarding Arabic language nuances, formatting, and cultural context.
• Engage with inactive contributors, encourage participation, track follow-ups, and report availability issues.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive Arabic project documentation, including style guides, trackers, FAQs, and onboarding materials.
• Organize and lead onboarding and training sessions for trainers and QAs.
• Ensure consistent application of Arabic language guidelines and updates among team members.
• Identify systemic quality gaps and propose workflow enhancements.
• Contribute to building scalable QA processes for Arabic language projects.
• Review AI-generated Arabic content and the work of trainers and QAs.
• Evaluate output quality against defined project guidelines and rubrics.
• Provide precise written feedback to contributors.
• Assess work for accuracy, fluency, grammar, tone, cultural appropriateness, meaning preservation, and adherence to instructions and rubrics.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Arabic, Linguistics, Translation, Communications, Journalism, English, Education, Quality Assurance, or a related field.
• Native or near-native Arabic proficiency with strong reading and writing skills.
• Proficiency in English to understand project guidelines and communicate effectively.
• A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in Arabic writing, editing, translation, localization, content QA, AI training, education, annotation, or similar language review roles.
• Solid understanding of Arabic grammar, spelling, punctuation, diacritics, RTL formatting, tone, register, Modern Standard Arabic, and regional variations.
• Ability to evaluate Arabic content against detailed rubrics and identify specific issues like mistranslation, unnatural phrasing, or dialect inconsistency.
• Experience leading or supporting remote teams of trainers, annotators, reviewers, editors, or QAs is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with remote work tools such as Discord, Google Sheets, Google Docs, and project management systems.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills for managing documentation.
• Experience with AI training, data annotation, large language models, or LLM QA is a significant advantage.

This is a remote contract position. The role requires comfort working in fast-moving remote environments and utilizing various digital collaboration tools.
