Job Description
About the Role
Sheraton is seeking a Captain to join their team. This full-time role involves overseeing service operations within banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee breaks, ensuring high standards of presentation and guest satisfaction. The Captain will be responsible for coordinating with kitchen staff and managing service delivery for various functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate service requirements to chefs and stewards during functions.
- Calculate charges for group functions and present checks to group contacts for payment.
- Ensure banquet rooms, restaurants, and coffee break areas are prepared for service.
- Verify that proper centerpieces are displayed on all tables.
- Inspect the cleanliness and presentation of all china, glass, and silver before use.
- Engage with guests to ensure their satisfaction.
- Set tables according to event type and service standards.
- Relay additional meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs, and special requests to the kitchen.
- Maintain cleanliness in work areas throughout the day.
- Adhere to all company and safety and security policies and procedures, reporting accidents or unsafe conditions.
- Ensure a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
- Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
- Welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, using clear and professional language.
- Develop positive working relationships, support team goals, and address employee concerns.
- Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards.
- Perform physical tasks such as lifting or moving objects weighing up to 25 pounds, and standing or walking for extended periods.
- Execute other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or * equivalent.
- Related Work Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience.
- Supervisory Experience: At least 1 year of supervisory experience.
