About the Role
Sheraton Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Director of Food & Beverage to lead the strategic business operations for food and beverage, including restaurants, bars, room service, and banquets/catering, at its property in Medina, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. This full-time position requires a leader focused on developing and implementing departmental strategies to meet brand service standards, enhance guest satisfaction, and maximize financial performance.
Role Responsibilities
The Director of Food & Beverage will serve as the strategic business leader for the property’s food and beverage operations. This includes overseeing the development and execution of departmental strategies, ensuring alignment with brand initiatives and service standards. The role focuses on meeting the needs of target customers, driving employee satisfaction, and growing revenues to maximize the financial performance of the department. Key activities involve developing and implementing property-wide strategies that deliver products and services exceeding customer and employee expectations, while ensuring a strong return on investment.
Key Responsibilities and Activities
- Setting expectations and holding the food and beverage leadership team accountable for service behaviors.
- Reviewing financial reports to assess performance against budget and making recommendations for capital expenditures.
- Developing and managing the Food and Beverage budget, monitoring sales to ensure revenue goals are met or exceeded.
- Ensuring cash and liquor control policies are implemented and followed.
- Leading the food and beverage team through effective communication, collaboration, and by serving as a role model.
- Identifying opportunities to increase profits and create value through innovation and necessary change.
- Ensuring regular communication occurs across all food and beverage areas, including pre-meal briefings and staff meetings.
- Developing and executing a food and beverage operating strategy aligned with the brand’s business strategy.
- Providing services that exceed customer expectations and implementing corrective actions based on guest feedback.
- Managing human resources activities, including setting performance standards, coaching, and hiring leadership team members.
- Estimating consumption for food, liquor, wine, and other beverages to manage purchasing.
- Ordering and purchasing necessary equipment and supplies.
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates should possess a high school diploma or GED with 6 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, event management, or a related professional area. Alternatively, a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major, combined with 4 years of relevant experience, will be considered.
Required Skills and Knowledge
- Customer and Personal Service: Understanding principles for providing customer service, including needs assessment, quality standards, and satisfaction evaluation.
- Management of Financial Resources: Ability to determine and manage expenditures to achieve work objectives.
- Administration and Management: Knowledge of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources, leadership techniques, and coordination.
- Applied Business Knowledge: Understanding market dynamics, enterprise objectives, and company business aspects to diagnose strengths/weaknesses, identify opportunities/risks, and develop strategies.
- Management of Material Resources: Proficiency in obtaining and appropriately using equipment, facilities, and materials.

This is a full-time position based in Medina, Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. The role operates within the framework of Sheraton Hotels & Resorts, requiring adherence to brand standards and strategic objectives. The position involves significant leadership and management responsibilities within the food and beverage department.
