About the Engineer Production Role at Maaden

Maaden is seeking a dedicated Engineer Production to join its team in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is central to ensuring efficient mine operations by planning and coordinating the availability and use of people, supplies, and equipment. The successful candidate will operate in strict adherence to statutory, safety, and environmental conditions.

Overview of Responsibilities

The Engineer Production is responsible for a range of critical functions that support mining activities. These include strategic resource and extraction planning, comprehensive engineering and commercial analysis, and rigorous reporting alongside adherence to Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.

Resource and Extraction Planning

• Conduct preliminary surveys with geologists to test the validity of minable resources and determine the feasibility of ore extraction.
• Identify and determine suitable ore extraction methods, considering factors such as overburden depth, altitude, deposit characteristics, and surrounding strata.
• Plan and coordinate the effective use of labor, supplies, and equipment, ensuring alignment with efficiency, statutory, safety, and environmental conditions.

Engineering and Commercial Analysis

• Consult with geologists, metallurgists, and other engineers regarding mining machines, facilities, systems, infrastructure, and environmental protection or restoration initiatives.
• Prepare operating and project estimates, assess capital and operating viability, and control expenditure during production phases.
• Participate in negotiations related to mine purchases or investments.
• Analyze environmental sensitivities associated with processes, waste, chemicals, environmental and cultural factors, and geopolitical considerations.

Reporting and HSE Compliance

• Analyze and compile monthly and yearly statistical production reports for management review and information dissemination.
• Monitor adherence to Maaden's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) programs, policies, and procedures.
• Provide guidance to address unsafe or damaging work practices within the operational environment.
• Investigate incidents in the assigned work area, provide recommendations or responses, and brief contractors on applicable HSE regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Engineer Production role should possess a strong background in mining operations and resource management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in production engineering within a mining context.
• Proven ability to plan and coordinate resources effectively.
• Strong understanding of statutory, safety, and environmental regulations pertinent to mining.
• Experience in conducting feasibility studies and determining extraction methods.
• Proficiency in preparing financial estimates and controlling expenditures.
• Knowledge of HSE programs and incident investigation protocols.
