Role Overview

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking an HSEW Officer - Bridges Project with over 10 years of experience. This regular position involves promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and environmentally compliant workplace. The HSEW Officer will implement policies, monitor site activities, conduct inspections, identify hazards, and ensure adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily site activities to ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and wellbeing requirements.
• Conduct routine workplace inspections and audits to identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
• Implement and enforce HSEW policies, procedures, and permit-to-work systems.
• Carry out risk assessments and support the development of mitigation measures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts, preparing detailed reports with corrective actions.
• Deliver site safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training programs.
• Monitor contractor compliance with project-specific HSEW requirements.
• Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety equipment.
• Maintain accurate HSEW records, inspection reports, and regulatory documentation.
• Coordinate emergency response drills and support emergency preparedness activities.
• Monitor environmental aspects including waste management, pollution prevention, and resource conservation.
• Promote employee wellbeing initiatives and contribute to a positive safety culture.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and internal stakeholders on HSEW-related matters.
• Track corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure.
• Support management in achieving project HSEW objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs).

Required Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in Health, Safety, Environment & Wellbeing (HSEW) roles.
