About the Role

Wood (KSA) is seeking an Inplant Principal Piping Layout Engineering Design - SME to serve as a Technical Authority across a portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial, and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role requires over 10 years of experience and involves providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle, from proposals and concept studies to detailed engineering and commissioning.

Technical Leadership and Expertise

The successful candidate will act as the highest level of technical authority within their discipline, offering specialist expertise and ensuring engineering excellence. This role is crucial for strengthening technical governance and supporting the delivery of safe, innovative, and high-quality engineering solutions across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Technical Authority across multiple projects.
• Lead technical reviews during Concept, FEED, and Detailed Design phases.
• Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
• Support proposals, client workshops, and business development activities.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the development of technical capability within teams.
• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.

Project and Team Support

In addition to direct project involvement, the SME will mentor engineering teams, establish and maintain technical standards, and support business development. The role also includes contributing to technical assurance and building trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders throughout the region.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A recognized industry expert with a proven track record.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex engineering challenges.
• Experience influencing clients and mentoring engineering teams.
• Proven capability in driving technical excellence across major international projects.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
