Lifting Supervisor

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking a Lifting Supervisor to join their team. This full-time role requires 2-5 years of experience and is responsible for overseeing all lifting and handling operations to ensure they are conducted safely and efficiently, in compliance with company standards and relevant regulations.

Role Overview

The Lifting Supervisor will be responsible for the direct supervision of all crane lifts on site. This involves meticulous planning, coordination, and execution of lifting activities, alongside comprehensive daily documentation and adherence to site-specific lift plans. The role ensures that all operations meet stringent safety and operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise all lifting activities within the project.
• Verify that all lifting gears are valid and in operational condition.
• Conduct pre-task briefings for all lifting team members, including crane operators, riggers, and signalmen, covering the Lifting Plan, risk control measures, and safe lifting procedures.
• Ensure all lift/riggers adhere to policies outlined in the Lifting Operators Manual.
• Prepare the Lifting Plan and confirm the validity of the Permit-To-Work (PTW) before commencing any lifting operation.
• Ensure mobile crane operators and all related lifting equipment operators conduct pre-operation checks using company-prescribed checklists.
• Verify load weights and radii to ensure proper understanding prior to lifting operations.
• Conduct area inspections before lifting operations, including setting up barricades and ensuring safety at the lifting area.
• Coordinate and supervise all lifting activities in strict accordance with the Lifting Plan.
• Implement suitable measures to rectify any reported unsafe conditions to ensure safe and continuous operation.
• Conduct on-job training for all lift standards and complete practical training reports.
• Perform minor maintenance tasks as required.
• Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.
• Ensure all rigging tackles used for lifting are in good condition and color-coded as per the monthly color code.
• Monitor equipment on site and coordinate with the client regarding any complaints, initiating immediate action.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2-5 years of experience in a similar lifting supervision role.
• Demonstrated understanding of safe lifting and handling operations.
• Familiarity with local and international regulations and requirements related to lifting operations.
• Proficiency in preparing lifting plans and completing associated documentation.
