About the Role
ALPLA is seeking a Procurement Supervisor to join their team. This full-time role involves managing procurement activities to ensure timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials while maintaining quality standards. The Procurement Supervisor will play a key role in supplier relations, payment processes, and strategic procurement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Procure materials, parts, supplies, and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner, adhering to quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and evaluate vendors for materials, equipment, or supplies, conducting interviews to assess product availability and terms of sale.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
- Collaborate with the accounts payable department to ensure timely supplier payments.
- Report on aged payments and follow up to resolve outstanding cases.
- Monitor and report department KPIs, analyzing deviations from targets.
- Oversee action plans for audits, ensuring timely closure of all open items.
- Work professionally with auditors.
- Develop favorable payment terms with suppliers and reduce cash purchases.
- Update the price matrix monthly and ensure supplier records are current.
- Prepare supplier evaluation reports and maintain proper records.
- Identify and highlight risks associated with material price increases or potential shortages due to supplier issues.
- Implement procurement strategy and policies, ensuring all purchase orders comply with company policy.
- Maintain a minimum of three suppliers for each item critical to customer supply.
- Resolve discrepancies or issues related to product quality, delivery, or service.
- Conduct annual supplier evaluations.
- Report all cost savings and actively seek new saving opportunities.
- Maintain tracking records for all purchase orders (POs) and update order management systems regularly.
- Establish a system to track goods and services POs to ensure timely delivery.
- Address vendor or contractor grievances and claims against suppliers.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
- 5-10 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to analyze historical data and forecasts to implement cost reduction programs.
- Participation in developing specifications for equipment, products, or substitute materials.
- Identification and development of training opportunities.
