The Opportunity: Senior Consultant, Renewable Energy

As part of its continued growth, MAI Group is seeking a Senior Consultant, Renewable Energy (PV Wind BESS) to join its business unit in Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves supporting the full lifecycle of utility-scale renewable projects, from technical due diligence and tendering to construction supervision and operations. The Senior Consultant will work hand-in-hand with clients, collaborators, and engineering teams, contributing to the energy transition and Vision 2030 initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate with clients and collaborators to conduct site visits and contribute to quarterly construction reports and annual and semi-annual operation supervision reports.
• Perform Technical Due Diligence (TDD) to support the acquisition of projects at different development stages, including project evaluation, basic engineering, and supporting technical studies.
• Review asset performance and the contractual framework, including PPA, EPC, and O&M contracts, as well as the Financial Model.
• Coordinate transversal engineering activities and supervise the design and development of renewable projects.
• Manage the initial design phase of projects and the tender process, including preparing the Request for Proposal (RFP) and evaluating offers.
• Carry out energy yield studies and develop CAPEX, OPEX, and LCOE estimates.
• Coordinate and manage new projects from inception to delivery.

Candidate Profile and Experience

MAI Group is looking for an engineer with solid hands-on experience across PV, Wind, BESS, and hybrid projects. Candidates should possess 2-5 years of professional experience in a relevant field.

Required Technical Expertise

• Proven experience in Technical Due Diligence (TDD) for renewable energy projects.
• Familiarity with contractual frameworks such as Power Purchase Agreements (PPA), Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts, and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) contracts.
• Ability to review and understand Financial Models related to renewable energy projects.
• Experience in managing tender processes, including RFP preparation and offer evaluation.
• Proficiency in conducting energy yield studies and developing CAPEX, OPEX, and LCOE estimates.
• Demonstrated project coordination and management skills from initial concept to final delivery.
