About Saudi Aramco and the Role

Saudi Aramco, a global leader in hydrocarbon energy and chemicals, is headquartered in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and plays a critical role in the world economy. The company is seeking a Senior Exploration Minerals Geologist to join the technical team within the Aramco Minerals organization, part of the Upstream Business Line. In this role, you will advise on identifying and evaluating new mineral deposits to support future growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement comprehensive exploration and mining strategies and programs aligned with company objectives.
  • Identify high-potential target areas through detailed analysis of geological, geophysical, and geochemical data, including remote sensing and airborne/ground-based surveys.
  • Conduct metallurgical testing and analysis to determine ore characteristics, mineralogy, and extractability, informing optimal extraction methods.
  • Interpret geological data from mapping, logging, and sampling to provide insights for mining method selection, reserve estimation, and resource optimization.
  • Plan and execute drilling campaigns for exploration, infill, and extension purposes.
  • Utilize GIS and 3D modeling software for data visualization, analysis, and decision support in exploration and mining.
  • Prepare clear, concise technical reports and presentations summarizing exploration findings, discoveries, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain accurate deposit models for mine planning and resource optimization.
  • Implement and monitor QA/QC protocols to ensure high-quality data and minimize errors.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including geologists, environmental scientists, and engineers, to achieve shared goals.
  • Provide technical guidance to junior team members.
  • Ensure all processing activities comply with environmental and safety regulations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5-10 years specifically in mineral exploration or a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience working in the field, including site visits for sample and data collection.
  • Ability to work effectively within multi-disciplinary and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven technical contribution in the mineral industry, evidenced by reputable international publications, technology patents, or mentoring programs.
  • Proficiency in geological mapping and modeling software, and exploration data analysis tools.
  • Ability to work in remote locations and adapt to challenging field conditions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Essential Technical Knowledge

  • Strong understanding of the Mineral System concept.
  • Expertise in crustal evolution, regional structural geology, and basin modeling processes to guide exploration and exploitation strategies.
  • Experience with sedimentary hosted mineralization.
