Senior Structural Engineer

About the Role

SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to oversee the erection and installation of steel structures for Overground metro stations. This full-time position involves ensuring structural integrity, quality, and compliance with international standards throughout the construction phase of various components, including platforms, concourses, foot overbridges, and roofing systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the erection and installation of steel structures for OG metro stations, encompassing platforms, concourses, foot overbridges, and roofing systems.
• Ensure all structural works adhere to approved drawings, specifications, and relevant codes (IS, IRC, Eurocode, etc.).
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and internal teams to resolve technical issues encountered on-site.
• Monitor construction progress, implement quality control measures, and ensure adherence to safety protocols.
• Conduct regular site inspections and prepare detailed reports on structural works, documenting non-conformities and proposed corrective actions.
• Review and verify shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals specifically related to steel structures.
• Liaise with design teams to address site-related design modifications or clarifications as needed.
• Ensure proper documentation of all inspections, approvals, and quality records throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on steel structures and metro station projects.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise construction activities and ensure compliance with engineering standards.
• Proficiency in relevant international codes and standards (IS, IRC, Eurocode, etc.).

Skills and Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge in steel structure erection and installation.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills for effective collaboration with various stakeholders.
• Ability to conduct thorough site inspections and prepare comprehensive reports.
• Detail-oriented approach to reviewing technical documents such as shop drawings and material submittals.

Work Environment
