Senior Supply Chain Management Advisor

About the Role

King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz University is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Management Advisor. This full-time role involves advising and coordinating various supply chain activities to optimize costs, enhance accuracy, and improve patient service and safety. The advisor will play a key role in appraising and improving sourcing activities by analyzing health affairs spending, supplier partnerships, and new opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and update supply chain sourcing practices to align with new or changing policies, standards, regulations, or laws.
• Develop efficient sourcing and category management strategies.
• Analyze and calculate procurement costs, proposing methods to reduce expenditure.
• Formulate negotiation strategies and secure profitable deals.
• Optimize sourcing procedures to achieve maximum efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure agreement on terms and processes.
• Research and anticipate shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers.
• Conduct cost and scenario analysis, along with benchmarking.
• Estimate risks and implement risk-minimizing techniques.
• Identify and collaborate with reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Determine the quantity and timing of deliveries.
• Assist in supporting supplier relationships.
• Review Requests for Quotes (RFQs).
• Oversee price negotiations with suppliers.
• Develop new sourcing methods to facilitate King Abdullah bin Abdelaziz University Hospital's (KAAUH) operations.
• Promote a patient-centered care culture by respecting patients and their families.
• Participate in and support quality improvement and patient safety activities, individually or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 12 years of relevant experience in supply chain management.
• Demonstrated ability to manage contracts, planning, and property control services.
• Proven experience in cost analysis, negotiation, and risk management within a supply chain context.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in developing and implementing sourcing and category management strategies.
