Job Description

About the Role

Sheraton is seeking a Technician- Mason to join their team. This full-time role involves performing various masonry, carpentry, and general maintenance tasks to ensure the property's structures and finishes are well-maintained and repaired. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, install, and repair walls and partitions, including drywall, wallpaper, millwork/molding, and faux finishing.
  • Install and repair various finishes, such as laminates.
  • Perform rough-in framing for doors, frames, windows, and cabinetry.
  • Repair, maintain, and construct wood structures including partitions, doors, furniture, and similar items throughout the property.
  • Execute miscellaneous minor repairs, such as tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs, and patching holes in walls.
  • Order necessary items by completing requisitions, obtaining manager approval, and utilizing appropriate vendors.
  • Load, transport, and unload freight from elevators to designated areas using a hand truck.

  • Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly.
  • Complete all required safety training and certifications.
  • Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
  • Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.

Guest Interaction

  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Anticipate and address guests’ service needs.
  • Provide assistance to individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  • Capability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to move up and down a ladder.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or * equivalent.
  • Experience: 2-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this role.
  • License or Certification: None specified.
