About the Role

Saudi Aramco is seeking a Technology Consultant - Refinery Experience Only to join the Global Manufacturing Excellence Digitalization and Technology Division (D&TD). This full-time role involves supporting the development and deployment of technology management programs to provide technical support across Saudi Aramco's Global Manufacturing portfolio. The consultant will focus on ideating, introducing, deploying, and sustaining novel technological solutions within various domains, including reliability, maintenance, sustainability, energy, and process.

Division Context

Global Manufacturing Excellence serves as a recognized Center of Excellence, driving value across Saudi Aramco’s Downstream Global manufacturing portfolio. The Digitalization and Technology Division (D&TD) leads the technology function, collaborating with various downstream functions and corporate entities to achieve its objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end implementation of technologies across the downstream portfolio, including petrochemical facilities, refineries, terminals, bulk plants, and gas plants.
• Develop comprehensive, value-adding technology roadmaps aligned with business challenges such as energy optimization, sustainability, plant availability, debottlenecking, and process optimization.
• Accelerate technology deployment through close collaboration with internal and external execution agencies and vendors.
• Conduct feasibility studies, including technical and economic evaluations of solutions, platforms, and new technologies.
• Perform technology scouting to identify innovative and value-adding technologies.
• Develop business cases and cost/benefit analyses for technology deployment.
• Work with other consultants, engineers, and project managers to deliver comprehensive solutions addressing both technical and business requirements.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate the progress and benefits of technology initiatives to peers, relevant stakeholders, and senior management.
• Collaborate with technology providers to develop and conduct tailored training content and programs supporting technology implementation and adoption by end-users.
• Recognize and introduce necessary changes to standards and governance.
• Stay informed of global and regional Oil and Gas industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes impacting technology implementations.
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance and standards, evaluate solution implementations, and identify necessary changes to standards and governance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field (Chemical, Industrial, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering) is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
• 10-15 years of experience as a Technology Consultant, with a focus on ideating, scouting, introducing, and tracking value-added technology deployment.
• Good understanding of downstream technologies, including refinery processes.
• Experience in developing business cases and benefit/cost analyses for downstream technology.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams across the project lifecycle, fostering effective communication and cooperation.
• Excellent understanding of management of change, engineering and design packages, as well as regulatory, risk mitigation, and safety requirements.
• Experience in change management, including developing and implementing technology changes.
• Understanding of relevant industry energy, safety, and design regulations and standards to ensure compliance of proposed technology solutions.
• Excellent understanding of manufacturing technology solutions enabling key process areas, including production, reliability, environmental, safety, and sustainability.
• Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successfully leading and delivering complex technology implementation projects in the Oil & Gas business.
• Ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
