About Alfanar and the Role

Alfanar is seeking a dedicated ACCOUNTANT GENERAL to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is integral to maintaining accurate financial records and supporting critical financial processes within the organization.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of the ACCOUNTANT GENERAL is to support the invoicing, payment tracking, and accounts receivable reporting processes. This involves ensuring accurate financial records, preparing timely reports, and providing essential data insights to both sales and finance teams. The role is key to enabling effective follow-up on outstanding accounts and maintaining the integrity of customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate customer invoices based on approved sales and delivery data.
• Record incoming payments and ensure their accurate application to customer accounts, maintaining proper documentation for all invoicing and payment records.
• Monitor customer account balances and payment trends, highlighting overdue or irregular accounts to the sales team.
• Generate periodic aging reports and exception lists to support sales in client follow-up and provide data analysis for addressing payment-related issues.
• Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers to ensure accurate posting of payments and credit memos.
• Prepare monthly AR summaries, aging reports, and trend analyses for management and sales review, supporting the finance team during month-end closing.
• Document billing discrepancies, flag unresolved issues for sales or customer service, respond to internal inquiries, and track dispute resolution, escalating as necessary.
• Maintain organized and updated records of invoices, payments, and account adjustments.
• Coordinate with sales, finance, and customer service teams to ensure account information accuracy and support internal audits by providing required AR documentation and data.

Accountability and Professional Development

The ACCOUNTANT GENERAL is expected to continuously develop relevant soft and technical skills. This role involves performing planned activities to meet operational and development targets, utilizing resources effectively, and providing periodic reports on task execution and deviations. Key accountabilities also include proactive problem-solving, escalating complex operational issues, ensuring quality control, and identifying opportunities for business process improvements and automation. Compliance with all related policies, procedures, and health, safety, and environmental management controls is mandatory.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in an accounting or similar financial role.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, operating within a collaborative environment that requires close coordination with sales, finance, and customer service teams.
