About the Role

Deutsche Bank is seeking a C&AFC Self Supervisory Unit (SSU) Officer in Riyadh. This full-time position is within the Regulations, Compliance and Anti Financial Crime (AFC) department, which is responsible for protecting the bank's integrity and reputation by managing risk and ensuring adherence to regulations. The role requires a Saudi National and is subject to SAMA approval.

Role Context and Responsibilities

The Self Supervisory Unit (SSU) operates as a specialized unit within Deutsche Bank, reporting to the Head of Compliance/MLRO. This unit is mandated by SAMA Self Supervisory Regulations to handle requests from the Special Enforcement Division of the Saudi Central Bank. The SSU Officer will have unrestricted access to necessary information, data, records, and systems within the bank to fulfill their function and will possess decision-making authority regarding matters related to requests from the Saudi Central Bank's Special Enforcement Division.

• Obtain SAMA approval prior to commencing responsibilities.
• Manage day-to-day tasks independently, taking full responsibility and ownership.
• Stay informed about new rules, regulations, policies, and procedures related to Special Enforcement Division regulations, Saudi AML Law, and its implementing regulations.
• Adhere to internal and external policies and regulations, particularly concerning Anti Financial Crime, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery & Corruption.
• Maintain up-to-date and accurate management information.
• Support the MLRO in implementing and executing SSU policies and procedures.
• Ensure appropriate reporting and escalation of issues and/or incidents to the MLRO.
• Support the MLRO in implementing adequate monitoring and research/surveillance tools.
• Conduct screening of names received from the Saudi Central Bank’s Special Enforcement Division.
• Receive, review, and act upon requests from the Saudi Central Bank’s Special Enforcement Division (or local FIU).
• Perform searches in Client Relationship Management tools and manage access rights for blocking/unblocking, preventing dealings, and providing statements.
• Perform any other required tasks.

Qualifications and Experience

This role is suitable for a fresh graduate or candidates with at least 2-3 years of experience in AML/KYC, preferably within a SAMA-regulated financial institution.

• Fluency in both English and Arabic is required.

• Strong organization and prioritization skills are essential.
• Profound decision-making skills are necessary.
• Strong analytical skills and a solution-oriented approach to problem-solving are required.
• Excellent inter-personal and communication skills are important.
