About the Role

A Confidential Government entity in Riyadh is seeking a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant to join its Finance team. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and focuses on maintaining accurate financial records within a dynamic real estate and property management environment.

Core Responsibilities

The General Ledger Accountant will be responsible for a range of critical accounting functions. Key duties include:

  • Maintaining the General Ledger and Chart of Accounts.
  • Preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.
  • Executing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close activities.
  • Performing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving outstanding items.
  • Managing fixed asset accounting, depreciation, and inventory records.
  • Processing and reconciling intercompany transactions.
  • Supporting financial reporting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
  • Assisting with VAT reporting, ZATCA compliance, and audit requirements.
  • Contributing to ERP enhancements and finance process improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4–7 years of overall accounting experience, with a minimum of 2–3 years specifically in General Ledger accounting.
  • Experience within the Real Estate, Property Management, Mall Leasing, Retail, or Commercial Property sectors is essential.
  • A strong understanding of SOCPA, IFRS, and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle, Yardi, MRI, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Skills and Background

The following qualifications are considered advantageous:

  • CMA certification.
  • Experience in multi-property environments.
  • Familiarity with Saudi VAT and ZATCA requirements, and experience with external audits.

Successful candidates will possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, enabling them to effectively manage financial data and collaborate with team members.
