About the General Manager Role at Earth Hotels Riyadh

Earth Hotels is seeking a General Manager to lead the pre-opening and ongoing operations of Earth Riyadh. This full-time position requires a leader with over 10 years of experience to bring the vision of Earth Riyadh to life, establishing it as a vibrant social destination focused on design, food, wellness, creativity, and human connection. The General Manager will be instrumental in shaping the hotel's identity, ensuring it operates as a community hub rather than a traditional hospitality establishment.

Pre-Opening Leadership and Operational Readiness

The General Manager will oversee the entire pre-opening phase, from construction handover through to the official launch and subsequent stabilization. This involves close collaboration with Development, Design, Technical Services, Brand, Finance, and Citizen & Culture teams to meet critical milestones. Key responsibilities include building and executing the opening critical path, ensuring all departments are operationally ready, and participating in design reviews, mock-up room assessments, and owner walkthroughs. The role also encompasses overseeing procurement, OS&E installation, testing, commissioning, and departmental readiness.

Culture, Guest Experience, and Brand Delivery

A core aspect of this role is building and nurturing a unique opening culture that embodies the energy and values of Earth Hotels. The General Manager will lead all hotel operations across Rooms, Food & Beverage, Wellness, Retail, Engineering, Finance, and People & Culture, ensuring seamless daily performance. The focus will be on creating a guest-first environment where every individual feels welcomed and connected. Maintaining exceptional standards in service, cleanliness, presentation, and safety is paramount, with a continuous drive to evolve the guest experience through innovation and creativity.

Commercial Performance and Destination Development

The General Manager is responsible for achieving annual revenue, GOP, and EBITDA targets. This includes managing budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and asset protection. Close collaboration with Revenue, Sales, and Marketing teams is essential to optimize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and overall hotel revenue. The role involves driving strong performance across accommodation, dining, wellness, retail, and events, with a strategic aim to establish the hotel's various outlets as destination venues in their own right. Identifying new partnerships and commercial opportunities to strengthen the Earth brand and improve profitability is also a key objective.

Team Leadership and Brand Stewardship

Recruiting, inspiring, coaching, and developing a high-performing leadership team is critical. The General Manager will foster a collaborative, inclusive, and accountable culture, ensuring strong succession planning and talent development. This role acts as the ultimate guardian of the Earth Hotels brand on property, ensuring the hotel's design, service style, energy, and experiences consistently reflect the Earth philosophy. The position requires a highly visible, hands-on leader who champions innovation, challenges traditional hospitality thinking, and embodies the brand's values.

Community Engagement and Compliance

Building meaningful relationships with local creators, artists, wellness practitioners, brands, entrepreneurs, suppliers, government stakeholders, and the wider community is essential. The General Manager will champion activations across F&B, wellness, retail, music, art, and community events, positioning Earth Riyadh as a leading lifestyle destination. Ensuring the hotel operates in full compliance with all Saudi regulations, licensing requirements, health and safety legislation, and Earth Hotels policies is a fundamental responsibility. This includes overseeing emergency procedures, security protocols, and crisis management planning.
