About the Lifting Supervisor Role

BEC Arabia is seeking a qualified Lifting Supervisor to join the HSE Department. This full-time position is based in Riyadh and requires a professional with a strong background in supervising lifting operations to ensure safety and compliance with project standards.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and controlling all daily lifting activities on site. The primary objective is to ensure that all lifting operations are conducted safely and in strict adherence to approved lifting plans, established HSE procedures, and specific project requirements. This role is critical in maintaining a safe working environment and preventing incidents related to lifting operations.

• Supervise all crane operations, rigging activities, and the work of lifting crews.
• Ensure that all lifting activities are performed strictly according to approved lifting plans.
• Conduct pre-lift meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings to communicate critical information.
• Verify the competency and certifications of all crane operators, riggers, and signalmen involved in lifting operations.
• Inspect all lifting gears, accessories, and equipment to confirm they are in safe working condition before each use.
• Ensure that lifting zones are properly controlled and that safe working practices are consistently followed.
• Have the authority to stop any unsafe lifting activities and report any violations observed.
• Coordinate effectively with the Lifting Engineer, the broader HSE team, and construction management.
• Maintain accurate lifting records and prepare daily reports on activities and safety observations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position must possess the necessary qualifications and experience to effectively manage lifting operations. A strong track record in heavy lifting environments is essential for success in this role.

• A Diploma or equivalent technical qualification is required.
• A minimum of 5 to 8 years of direct experience in lifting supervision is mandatory.
• Demonstrated strong experience with various types of cranes, rigging techniques, and heavy lifting activities.
• Possession of a valid lifting supervisor certification is essential.
• Previous experience in major construction projects is a prerequisite.
• Experience on GCC mega-projects is preferred and will be considered an advantage.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position located in Riyadh. The role is integral to the operational safety and efficiency of construction projects within the region.
