About the Manufacturing Engineering Expert Role

Nextpower is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Expert to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to developing and managing the company's local supply chain, a key strategic focus for Nextpower as it leads the energy transition with intelligent solar tracker and control software solutions. The Manufacturing Engineering department is responsible for industrialization, production ramp-up, and continuous improvement of steel processes and the supplier network. This position reports to the Factory General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical qualification processes to support product launches, ensuring a balance of quality, customer satisfaction, cost, and sustainability.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, quality, project engineering, and applications engineering, as well as vendors, to develop task plans and deliverables aligned with program schedules and costs.
  • Identify and analyze manufacturing problems, taking initiative to implement improvements with demonstrable business benefits.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives for assigned suppliers.
  • Manage day-to-day activities to ensure the timely delivery of all projects and deliverables.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues, taking ownership of root-cause analysis and corrective actions, and documenting all findings.
  • Host regular project meetings and provide status updates to all stakeholders.
  • Actively participate in meetings and business development opportunities as required.
  • Serve as the internal advocate for the customer's perspective.
  • Conduct frequent supplier visits to track execution performance.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with Saudi steel manufacturers, their manufacturing processes, and relevant regulations.
  • Experience in CM or OEM manufacturing environments, including at least two years of regular engagement with factories on process development, Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tooling readiness, and product launches.
  • Hands-on experience in at least two of the following manufacturing processes: stamping, drilling, laser cutting, tube bending, or welding.
  • Strong structuring and analytical skills to manage multiple projects and vendors in an international and multicultural setting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to report and present strategy at an executive level.
  • Advanced communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Fluent oral and written communication in both English and Arabic.
  • Strong cross-functional communication and collaboration skills, essential for working with remote teams and suppliers.
  • Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to think creatively to achieve objectives.
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and respond quickly and flexibly to changing circumstances.
  • Autonomous work capability.
  • Availability for regular travel.

Preferred Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering, or a higher qualification.
  • 8–10 years of experience in heavy-steel fabrication, with proven ownership of equipment installation and volume ramp-up.
  • Experience working within a multicultural environment.
