About the Role

Dar, a founding member of the Sidara group, is seeking a Mechanical Inspector for a full-time position in Riyadh. Dar is an international multidisciplinary consulting organization operating in 60 countries, connecting people and communities through innovative solutions to complex challenges. This role requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience to ensure the quality and compliance of mechanical works on infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise mechanical works on infrastructure projects, ensuring full compliance with approved designs, specifications, and applicable standards.
• Review mechanical design and shop drawings.
• Monitor site implementation of mechanical systems.
• Oversee quality control to ensure the functionality, safety, and performance of mechanical systems.
• Conduct site inspections and witness testing activities, including pressure and performance tests, for irrigation, drainage, and pumping systems.
• Review and respond to technical correspondence, RFIs, shop drawings, method statements, and material submittents, providing professional technical input.
• Identify, assess, and resolve technical issues on site through coordination with design consultants, contractors, and construction teams.
• Ensure all mechanical works comply with applicable codes, standards, safety regulations, and quality requirements.

Technical Expertise and Requirements

This role demands senior-level technical capability, enabling independent design review and sound engineering decision-making to support construction teams. Extensive experience in road infrastructure projects is required, including irrigation systems, stormwater drainage, and utility networks, with involvement in both design review and site execution. A strong knowledge of irrigation, pumping, and drainage systems is essential, encompassing gravity and pressurized networks, water demand calculations, pump sizing, pipe material selection, and verification of system capacity and performance.

Analytical and Software Proficiency

Proficiency in hydraulic and hydrological analysis is necessary, utilizing standard engineering methods and software such as Manning Equation, Rational Method, and WaterCAD/WaterGEMS. This includes checking pipe sizing, flow rates, slopes, and drainage capacity, and adapting designs based on changing site conditions. The ability to provide clear, timely, and professional technical input on various project documentation is also a key requirement.

Experience and Project Scope

The ideal candidate will possess 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role involves supporting the successful delivery and handover of projects by ensuring mechanical works meet all technical and quality standards. This includes managing the resolution of technical challenges to minimize impact on project schedules and performance.
