About the National Sales Manager Role

Mindfield Resources is seeking a National Sales Manager to join a well-established consumer business with a significant presence across Saudi Arabia. This role is designed for a leader who understands the intricacies of building sales within the Kingdom, focusing on disciplined route-to-market execution, robust wholesale and general trade relationships, effective direct distribution, and the ability to navigate a market influenced by discounters impacting price expectations and consumer behavior.

Role Overview and Scope

The National Sales Manager will lead the comprehensive national sales strategy, encompassing General Trade, Traditional Trade, Modern Trade, discounters, and the HoReCa sector. This position requires a leader who recognizes that sustained national performance is built on a foundation of strong execution at the regional, route, and customer levels, rather than solely relying on data dashboards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee national sales performance across Saudi Arabia, with full accountability for volume, revenue, product mix, and profitability.
  • Drive performance in direct distribution and van sales operations, focusing on route quality, outlet coverage, productivity, and execution standards.
  • Develop and enhance channel strategies across General Trade, Traditional Trade, wholesale, modern trade, discounters, and HoReCa.
  • Cultivate and strengthen relationships with distributors, wholesalers, key retail accounts, and foodservice clients.
  • Manage forecasting, trade investments, and commercial discipline to ensure profitable growth.
  • Lead regional sales teams and frontline managers throughout the Kingdom, ensuring clear accountability for in-market execution.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive sales experience is required; 15+ years in the food industry is preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise across General Trade, Traditional Trade, wholesale, modern trade, discounters, and HoReCa channels.
  • Hands-on experience with direct distribution and van sales models.
  • A strong understanding of route-to-market execution, distributor management, and frontline sales leadership.
  • Experience within food, frozen food, dairy, or adjacent FMCG categories is advantageous.
  • Proven commercial acumen in managing targets, trade spend, collections, pricing, and overall business performance.
  • This role supports the company's workforce localization objectives; applicants must meet current Saudization eligibility requirements.
