About the Role

KONE is seeking a **SABER Product Certification Specialist** to join our team in Riyadh. This full-time position is crucial for ensuring compliance with Saudi Arabian regulatory requirements for imported products. The specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for all SABER-related activities across KONE Saudi Arabia operations, encompassing elevators, escalators, spare parts, components, and other imported materials.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The SABER Product Certification Specialist will manage all SABER product registration activities for KONE in Saudi Arabia. This involves developing, implementing, and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure efficient and compliant registration processes. The role requires managing the end-to-end registration process, including liaising with Sales and Services teams to identify materials needing registration prior to importation. Key responsibilities include collecting and organizing technical documentation, providing guidance on conformity requirements, and ensuring document validity and timely renewals.

  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of relevant SASO technical regulations and ensuring KONE products and externally sourced components meet applicable requirements.
  • Communicating regularly with SASO to clarify technical regulations and certification requirements.
  • Collaborating with the KONE Global Trade Compliance team to ensure correct HS codes are assigned and appropriate technical verification schemes are selected.
  • Liaising with KONE Codes & Standards to map technical requirements for products, parts, and materials.
  • Maintaining an accurate list of all materials imported into Saudi Arabia by KONE.
  • Coordinating with the logistics team to ensure timely issuance of shipment certificates and prevent customs clearance delays.
  • Collaborating with Purchasing and technical teams to facilitate the timely collection and validation of technical documentation.
  • Managing certification costs and handling billing processes with certification bodies.
  • Ensuring the validity of SCoC documents during import and maintaining a list of materials requiring SABER registration with expiration dates.
  • Managing the renewal schedule for technical documents.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

This role requires extensive collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. These include Sales and Services teams, Project Managers, Customer Solution Engineering (CSE), Logistics, Global Trade Compliance, Codes & Standards, Procurement, Supply Chain, KONE Spares (GSS), Finance, operational teams, suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, SASO, ZATCA, and certification bodies. Effective communication and coordination with these groups are essential for ensuring compliance readiness and smooth customs clearance processes.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration. A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required, with a strong emphasis on experience in the SABER registration process and a solid understanding of the KSA market. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word, is essential. Experience with SAB is considered a plus.

Successful candidates will demonstrate excellent cross-functional collaboration skills and possess strong English and Arabic communication abilities. The ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and proactively address compliance challenges is critical for this role.
