About the Role

Kimans Metering, a specialist manufacturer of smart metering solutions with over 50 years of engineering heritage, is establishing a dedicated commercial presence in Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a senior, self-driven Business Development Manager to build this operation from the ground up in Riyadh. This is a full-time position focused on driving nationwide commercial growth.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Senior Business Development Manager will be responsible for Kimans Metering's commercial expansion across Saudi Arabia. This involves cultivating a robust ecosystem of distributors, channel partners, integrators, and service partners. A key aspect of the role is securing specification approvals with engineering consultants and generating demand among developers, district cooling operators, utilities, and contractors. The role operates as a senior individual contributor, with support from the regional Dubai office for pre-sales, technical, and marketing functions. The product scope includes all Kimans Metering solutions, such as thermal energy/BTU metering, water metering, AMR/reading solutions, software/billing platforms, smart valves, and related accessories.

Key Ownership Areas

  • KSA Growth Ownership: Develop and implement an annual go-to-market plan for Saudi Arabia, defining targets, account focus, partner strategy, and quarterly milestones, with full accountability for activity and coverage across all regions.
  • Channel & Partner Ecosystem: Identify, recruit, onboard, and activate distributors, channel partners, integrators, and service partners throughout KSA. This includes providing training, conducting joint customer visits, ensuring technical alignment, managing lead flow, and performing quarterly performance reviews. Partner activation and repeat ordering are critical.
  • Consultant Approvals & Specification Strategy: Drive the inclusion of Kimans' products in consultant specifications and approved-vendor lists. Define and justify the target consultant list with clear market rationale, and manage the necessary technical and commercial presentations and documentation.
  • Demand Generation & Market Awareness: Increase Kimans' visibility with developers, district cooling operators, utilities, contractors, and other key decision-makers. Represent Kimans at industry exhibitions, conferences, and technical events, converting leads into qualified opportunities.
  • Opportunity & Deal Execution: Build and manage a comprehensive sales pipeline from prospecting through negotiation and closing. Exercise commercial authority to approve pricing, discounts, and payment terms within company policy and profitability guidelines. Coordinate necessary support from the Dubai regional office.
  • CRM, Reporting & Forecasting Discipline: Maintain accurate CRM records for accounts, partner activities, consultant approvals, meetings, and opportunities. Provide weekly and monthly reports on pipeline status, forecasts, key account progress, and partner performance.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a strong track record of building markets and closing project-based B2B deals in Saudi Arabia, typically with 8-12+ years of experience. Preferred industry experience includes metering, instrumentation, flow/HVAC, water, building products, or MEP-specified equipment. Demonstrated success in working through distributors and channel partners, and influencing consultant specifications with specific, verifiable results, is essential. Experience selling to developers, district cooling operators, and utilities is highly preferred. A working knowledge of the approved-vendor and spec-in processes in KSA is required. Strong negotiation skills and commercial acumen, with the ability to responsibly manage pricing and payment terms, are necessary. Fluency in Arabic and strong English communication skills are mandatory. The role requires a willingness and practical ability to travel extensively across KSA.

Success Metrics

Performance will be measured against key indicators including annual revenue targets, pipeline quality and accuracy, stage health, conversion rates, and forecast accuracy. Strategic partner activation and the flow of partner-generated opportunities will also be assessed, alongside consultant approvals and evidenced specification wins.
