Join Our Team as a Safety Officer!

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer with a minimum of five (5) years of experience to oversee health, safety, and environmental (HSE) practices at project sites. You will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with company policies, client requirements, and local regulations while promoting a strong safety culture across the workforce.

Key Responsibilities:

Implement and monitor HSE policies and procedures at the project site.
Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
Ensure adherence to local regulations and client safety standards.
Prepare and maintain safety reports, risk assessments, and incident investigation records.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety inductions, and awareness training for employees and subcontractors.
Monitor work activities to ensure safe work practices are followed.
Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Coordinate with project management to ensure safety measures are integrated into all operations.
Maintain safety documentation and ensure all permits and certifications are valid and up to date.
Support emergency response planning and drills.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in construction or industrial projects.
Professional certification (*, NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA) is preferred.
Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and international safety standards.
Excellent communication and reporting skills.
Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple site activities.

Responsibilities:

Conduct safety inspections on equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure worker safety.
Inspect safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and tools and replace those that do not meet safety standards.
Monitor work crews and report any lapses in safety precautions.
Examine the conditions of ditches and tunnels, recommending safety measures accordingly.
Investigate accidents to determine causes and develop preventive measures.
Educate workers on the proper use of safety equipment and safe work methods.
Ensure compliance with all safety procedures throughout the work process.
Encourage reporting of unsafe acts and conditions.

Qualifications:

Minimum 8 years of experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with a High School diploma.
Minimum 6 years of experience in Oil & Gas maintenance with a diploma.
Strong technical knowledge related to safety in maintenance jobs.
Excellent organization skills and proactive communication abilities.
Demonstrated leadership skills in large organizations.
Ability to make sound judgments under pressure and resolve issues effectively.
Strategic management skills are a plus.
