About the Role

ABB is seeking a Business Communications Manager for the ME Region, specifically contributing to the Electrification Business (Smart Power/Smart Building) in Riyadh. This is a full-time, onsite position where you will be empowered to lead and supported to grow.

Role Context and Responsibilities

In this role, you will develop and implement local communication plans for two divisions within the Electrification Business Area. You will execute communication activities across various channels, adhering to group guidelines and approved budgets. A key aspect of this position involves building strong local narratives, developing content for targeted audiences, and collaborating with marketing on promotional activities using approved digital platforms. This is a highly collaborative role requiring close work with various functions and communications teams to ensure proactive and effective communication across multiple channels and stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities

• Develop and implement the business communications plan in collaboration with the Global Business Communications Manager and regional Marketing and Sales leaders.
• Propose and implement communication plans, validated by the Marketing & Sales manager, aligned with growth plans and within budget.
• Support communication efforts, projects, and initiatives such as events, trade shows, and conferences, including cross-divisional initiatives.
• Assist with executive messaging for trade media, digital communications, and thought leadership.
• Support the localization of global initiatives or campaigns.
• Contribute to lead generation through advertising, sponsorship, and other promotional activities, utilizing the internet for integrated marketing communications via tools like Pardot.
• Develop creative concepts for communication vehicles in line with branding guidelines and ABB brand standards.
• Manage business content on local social and digital channels for Smart Buildings and Smart Power solutions.
• Organize events and trade exhibitions to enhance corporate image and support business objectives.
• Develop messaging for content specific to Smart Buildings and Smart Power, locally aligned to target audiences.
• Manage the creation, production, and publication of sales literature, in print or electronic form, to support sales activities and product launches.
• Collaborate with Country Communications and Division peers to share the ABB story.
• Maintain a positive and integrated network with internal and external communication communities to promote knowledge of current practices and innovation.

Qualifications and Experience

• A degree in communications or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, preferably within a B2B and B2C technical or industrial environment.
• Proven experience supporting communication across all channels.
• Bilingual proficiency in Arabic and English.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Strong written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to be an effective storyteller.
• Experience with design tools such as Adobe and Canva.
• Experience with campaign tools like Pardot.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure on-time delivery.
• Experience working with measurement KPIs and reporting to track performance.
• A team player who contributes to team and business success.
• Willingness to travel and work flexible or fluctuating hours as needed.
