About the Role

Ali Bin Ali Hospital in Riyadh is seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join their team. This full-time position involves providing comprehensive psychiatric care to patients. The role requires a dedicated professional committed to high-quality, patient-centered mental health services.

Core Responsibilities

The Consultant Psychiatrist will be responsible for a range of clinical duties, including:

  • Conducting thorough psychiatric evaluations to establish accurate diagnoses.
  • Developing and implementing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Prescribing, monitoring, and adjusting psychiatric medications.
  • Providing psychotherapy, counseling, and crisis intervention services.
  • Monitoring patient progress and adapting treatment plans as needed.
  • Offering psychiatric consultations for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency cases.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Responding to psychiatric emergencies with timely interventions.
  • Maintaining accurate, complete, and confidential medical records.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical audits.
  • Ensuring adherence to hospital policies, ethical standards, patient safety, and regulatory guidelines.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • A Doctor of Medicine (MBBS/MD) or equivalent degree.
  • Saudi Board, Arab Board, or equivalent Board Certification in Psychiatry.
  • Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) registration and classification as a Consultant Psychiatrist.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of post-board experience as a Consultant Psychiatrist.

Essential Skills and Experience

Successful candidates will possess:

  • Strong clinical expertise in psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based treatment.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • The ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
  • Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Supervision and Development

The role may involve supervising and mentoring junior physicians, residents, and other clinical staff as applicable. Participation in continuing medical education activities is expected to support professional development and the continuous improvement of mental health services.
