The Role of Database Engineer

Aflak Solutions is seeking a professional Database Engineer / DBA to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position is central to ensuring the performance, integrity, and security of the organization's enterprise databases. The role requires a candidate with 0-1 years of experience, ready to contribute to a dynamic IT environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain high-availability database systems.
• Design and implement databases based on defined business requirements.
• Define users and manage data access and distribution effectively.
• Ensure continuous database operations, including 24/7 availability.
• Provide seamless data flow across various systems.
• Manage both backend data structure and frontend accessibility.
• Implement robust backup and recovery strategies, high-speed transaction recovery, and performance optimization techniques.
• Minimize downtime and improve overall query performance.
• Provide proactive and reactive database support to ensure operational efficiency.
• Train users on proper database usage and best practices.
• Define and enforce database policies, procedures, and standards.
• Perform regular testing for security, data privacy, and data integrity.
• Monitor database performance and apply necessary updates, patches, and upgrades.
• Stay updated with the latest database technologies and industry trends.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with database systems and end-user applications.
• Excellent knowledge of SQL, backup and recovery procedures, and principles of data security and integrity.
• Proven experience in database design, documentation, and coding.
• Familiarity with various DBA tools, third-party tools, and APIs.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• A certification such as MCSE (Data Management & Analytics) is considered a significant advantage.

Work Environment and Experience Level
