About the New Product Development Specialist Role

AlKhalejiah, a leading food manufacturing business, is seeking a motivated New Product Development Specialist to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on the innovation and enhancement of bakery, pastry, confectionery, and dessert products.

Core Responsibilities

The New Product Development Specialist will be instrumental in bringing new food products from initial concept to successful commercial launch. Key duties include:

  • Developing new bakery, pastry, confectionery, and dessert products from concept to commercialization.
  • Optimizing existing product formulations to improve quality, consistency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Conducting product trials, pilot runs, and factory validation processes.
  • Collaborating with Production, Quality, Procurement, and Commercial departments throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Preparing detailed product specifications, recipes, formulations, and technical documentation.
  • Evaluating ingredients and raw materials for new product development initiatives.
  • Supporting factory implementation, scale-up activities, and product launch execution.
  • Monitoring market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor offerings to identify innovation opportunities.
  • Ensuring adherence to food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Between 2 to 5 years of experience in New Product Development within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing bakery, pastry, confectionery, dessert, or snack products.
  • A strong understanding of food ingredients, formulations, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with product trials, validations, and factory implementation.
  • Proficiency in English.

Skills and Competencies

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. A good command of English is also required.
