About the Role

DeepSource Technologies is seeking a Senior Storage Engineer for a 6-month engagement in Riyadh, KSA. This role focuses on leading operational, testing, and documentation activities for enterprise storage and networking infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Dell EMC PowerFlex and Dell EMC PowerMax (PMAX) platforms.

Core Responsibilities

The Senior Storage Engineer will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of PowerFlex, PMAX, and Dell Switches. A key aspect of this role involves creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Low-Level Designs (LLDs), utilizing Visio for diagramming.

PMAX Testing and Validation

This position requires hands-on testing and validation of the PMAX system. Responsibilities include:

• Creating and restoring snapshot copies.
• Simulating port and path failures to validate host multipathing behavior.
• Testing single power supply failure scenarios and validating system resilience.
• Exporting and restoring Unisphere configuration backups.
• Confirming alert visibility and accuracy within the Unisphere dashboard.

PMAX Operational Documentation and Tasks

Developing and maintaining SOPs for PMAX operations is critical. This includes procedures for recovery, capacity monitoring, volume management, service level configuration, performance monitoring, patch installation, configuration backups, and log collection. Additional technical tasks involve debugging syslog configurations, documenting LUN-per-port mapping for LLDs, reviewing LUN mapping for load balancing, and analyzing PMAX ports for errors and performance issues.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must possess proven hands-on experience with Dell EMC PowerMax administration and operations, along with experience in an operational or support capacity for Dell EMC PowerFlex. A working knowledge of Dell networking/switching infrastructure is required. Strong understanding of SAN concepts, including multipathing, LUN masking/mapping, snapshots, and service levels, is essential. Proficiency in Unisphere for PowerMax management and Visio for technical documentation is necessary. Excellent documentation skills for writing clear SOPs and LLDs, along with experience in syslog configuration and troubleshooting, are expected. Familiarity with performance monitoring and capacity planning on enterprise storage arrays is also required.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include Dell EMC certifications (*, PowerMax, PowerFlex specialist certifications), prior experience in a client-facing or managed services environment, and experience supporting telecom or large enterprise environments.
