About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Senior Traffic Engineer to join a new Project Management Office (PMO) focused on major highway and infrastructure projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant urban development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee traffic signal, junction, temporary works, and associated traffic engineering designs, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with the project team.
• Develop and manage the scope, schedule, and budget for traffic engineering design tasks, monitoring project progress and resource allocation.
• Provide regular written and verbal project status updates to the project manager, reporting on milestones, risks, and issues.
• Present technical results and recommendations derived from traffic engineering expertise.
• Lead the project team in preparing traffic engineering plans, including signal designs, signing and marking, intersection concepts, and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) designs.
• Coordinate with subject matter experts, such as surveyors and roadway designers, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Conduct and document traffic studies following nationally accepted modeling practices.
• Assist engineers in developing technical approaches for traffic engineering projects and review technical results prepared by others.
• Provide training and guidance to junior engineers.
• Contribute to the successful delivery of traffic engineering projects, promoting safety and enhancing transportation operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
• A minimum of 15 years of related work experience.
• Experience or familiarity with Microstation, Bentley OpenRoads, and/or Projectwise.
• Understanding of traffic analysis tools such as HCS, Transmodeler, Synchro/SimTraffic.
• Knowledge of traffic operations principles including ITE, OMUTCD, MUTCD, ODOT TEM, AASHTO, and ODOT L&D requirements.
• Proven experience in developing traffic signal design plans.
• Experience in at least one of the following areas: ODOT design standards, ITS design, traffic operations studies, or intersection conceptual drafting.
• Experience in reviewing third-party designs and coordinating comments for approval.
• Experience working within a multi-discipline team environment.
• A proactive approach to personal activities and a willingness to assist in other disciplines to support overall PMO efficiency.

Desired Skills

• Previous experience working within a PMO.
• Chartered (or similar) status with an industry-recognized engineering body.
• Master’s Degree in Transportation Engineering.
• Experience managing large tasks and/or projects.
