About Shangri-La Jeddah

Shangri-La Jeddah is situated on the new Jeddah Waterfront, along the Red Sea. The hotel features floor-to-ceiling windows, interiors inspired by the sea and sandy beaches, a dedicated Kids Club, and various dining concepts. It aims to establish a new benchmark for luxury in the city.

The Role of Commis Chef

The Commis Chef is responsible for maintaining high standards in food preparation and service within their assigned kitchen. This full-time position is based in Jeddah and requires 0-1 years of experience. The role involves adhering to management standards and contributing to a positive team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality service to customers and employees, maintaining a positive attitude and strong team spirit in line with the Shangri-La Philosophy.
Monitor the freshness, presentation, and temperature of all food served.
Ensure proper control over food portioning, serving requisitions, and receiving items from stores.
Coordinate detailed aspects of restaurant, banquet, and general food production, including specific duties for supervised employees.
Manage correct timing during service to ensure food is consistently of the highest standards.
Regularly check the quality of prepared food, focusing on taste and temperature.
Ensure a uniform visual appearance for all dishes, with presentation and garnish meeting established standards.

Candidate Requirements

Demonstrated curiosity and a willingness to learn and understand new culinary trends.
Preferably possesses experience working in a luxury restaurant or a five-star hotel environment.
Exhibits a positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Displays initiative and creativity in culinary tasks.
