About Arabian Ceramics

Arabian Ceramics (سيراميك العربية) is seeking a skilled Graphic Designer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to the visual and functional design of interior environments and ceramic product aesthetics.

The Graphic Designer Role

The Graphic Designer at Arabian Ceramics is central to shaping the visual and functional aspects of interior environments and product aesthetics. This role involves the comprehensive planning, design, and furnishing of various spaces, including exhibitions, showrooms, dealer shops, and customer residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. A key responsibility is to originate and develop innovative design ideas for the form of ceramic and porcelain products, ensuring they align with both aesthetic standards and practical applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Confer with management to determine scheme preferences, purpose, function, budget, and material types for interior environments.
  • Integrate interior design knowledge to formulate practical and aesthetic ceramic environmental plans that align with intended purposes.
  • Advise management on critical interior design factors, including space planning, layout, utilization of furnishings and equipment, and color coordination.
  • Render design ideas through paste-ups, drawings, or illustrations, estimate material requirements and costs, and present designs for management approval.
  • Select or design and procure furnishings, artworks, and accessories.
  • Subcontract the fabrication, installation, and arrangement of various interior elements such as carpeting, fixtures, draperies, paint, wall coverings, and furniture.
  • Research and establish design concepts by reviewing publications, attending showings, and consulting with engineering, marketing, production, and sales representatives.
  • Evaluate design ideas based on factors including appearance, design-function relationships, serviceability, materials engineering, application, budget, price, production costs, market characteristics, and management specifications.
  • Present design works to the design committee and engage in discussions regarding necessary modifications and changes.
  • Coordinate the preparation of working drawings based on sketches and design specifications.
  • Integrate findings, concepts, and sketches to develop design ideas for custom applications.
  • Confer with administrative, curatorial, and exhibit staff members to define the theme, content, purpose, and planned location of exhibits.
  • Consider budget, promotion, and time limitations to plan the production schedule for the fabrication and installation of exhibit components.
  • Prepare preliminary drawings of proposed exhibits, including detailed construction, layout, special effect diagrams, and material specifications for final rendition.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in graphic design, interior design, or product design, with a focus on ceramic and porcelain products or related environments. A strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in visual planning, rendering, and design execution is expected.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves collaborative work with various internal departments and external contractors to achieve design objectives.
