About the Role

Sheraton is seeking a full-time Mgr-Purchasing to manage purchasing operations. This role involves following established procedures for ordering, receiving, storing, distributing, and processing payments for items. The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and maintaining an approved vendor list across all categories, ensuring efficient and compliant purchasing practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage work, projects, policies, and standards for purchasing across various departments.
• Apply accounting knowledge to purchasing operations and support overall purchasing activities.
• Maintain finance and accounting goals related to purchasing.
• Generate and provide accurate and timely reports and presentations.
• Compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, or verify information and data.
• Ensure sanitation compliance and maintain sanitation and safety standards as per brand guidelines.
• Assist the Executive Chef with all aspects of purchasing (*, Food, Beverage, and Controllable items) to ensure quality and profitability.
• Order all food and beverage items based on business needs and assist in maintaining/lowering budgeted food/controllable costs.
• Delegate and enforce first-in/first-out inventory rotation for all storeroom products.
• Ensure proper safeguards are in effect for the security of food and beverage storeroom assets.
• Enforce item use-up with storeroom personnel and kitchen management to keep inventory levels as low as possible.
• Communicate with kitchen, restaurant management, and vendors to ensure timely deliveries that satisfy advanced food production needs.
• Check invoices against received goods to ensure quantity, quality, weights, and purchase specifications match orders.
• Utilize existing computer programs to perform daily and period-end food and beverage cost calculations.
• Maintain inventory controls for proper levels, dating, rotation, and requisitions.
• Complete administrative tasks on a timely basis, including C-7s, menu costing, and general office duties.
• Complete period-end inventory according to Food and Beverage and Accounting standard operating procedures.
• Calculate figures for food and beverage inventory.
• Ensure that price and product availability issues are communicated as needed to the F&B Director and Executive Chef.
• Ensure all LSOP's are adhered to by all employees.
• Receive and inspect all deliveries.
• Maintain an accurate controllable log and beverage perpetual inventory.
• Ensure accurate administration of all invoices and adherence to proper bookkeeping procedures.

Additional Responsibilities

• Manage discipline work, projects, and policies within the purchasing department.
• Support property operations and contribute to overall profitability.
• Manage and monitor activities that affect the customer and guest experience.
• Support safety standards and work procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant purchasing or supply chain role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
• Proficiency in using computers and computer systems (including hardware and software) for programming, data entry, and information processing.
• Ability to use relevant information and individual judgment to determine compliance with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Commitment to staying technically up-to-date and applying new knowledge to the job.
