About the Dental Assistant Role

Johns Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) is seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our professional team in Al-Ahsa. This full-time position is integral to supporting our dental professionals and ensuring the delivery of efficient and effective patient care within our dental clinics.

Purpose of the Role

The Dental Assistant performs general dental assisting tasks that directly support dentists and dental therapists during various clinical procedures. The primary purpose of this role is to facilitate smooth operations and contribute to a high standard of patient care through direct assistance and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to dentists and dental hygienists during diagnostic, operative, or preventive procedures, encompassing all phases of clinical treatments.
• Maintain sterile equipment, ensure the cleanliness of the operatory area, and perform other related tasks as experience is gained.
• Execute a range of X-ray procedures directly within the operatory.
• Prepare and mix various materials essential for patient treatment, including anesthetic syringes with appropriate needles and carpules, rubber dam equipment, impression materials (alginate, hydrocolloid, rubber base), periodontal dressings, cements (zinc oxide, zinc phosphate, calcium hydroxide), and restorative materials (amalgam, composite resins).

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for the Dental Assistant position should possess 2 to 5 years of experience in a relevant dental assisting role. A proven ability to perform general dental assistant tasks and a commitment to supporting clinical procedures are required.

Professional Development and Supervision

This role encourages continuous skill development through in-service training and hands-on chairside experience. The Dental Assistant operates under the direct supervision of a Dentist or with guidance from a Senior Dental Assistant, ensuring professional growth and adherence to clinical standards.
