About the Opportunity

S-Chem is seeking a dedicated Engineer Process Control to join its team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time role is essential for enhancing plant operations through advanced control strategies and robust system management.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to improve, develop, and implement control strategies that contribute to enhanced plant safety, profitability, efficiency, and overall operability. The Engineer Process Control will play a crucial part in optimizing plant performance and ensuring reliable control system functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage in plant Process Safety Management (PSM) by participating in the Management of Change process, including hazard reviews, HAZOP and LOPA studies, action item follow-up, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.
• Troubleshoot issues with control systems, implement resolutions, and provide ongoing support.
• Monitor control systems and supporting applications, executing preventative maintenance to maintain optimal operation.
• Support Alarm Documentation and Rationalization (AOA) activities and recognize opportunities for improvement in plant process control strategies.
• Support the implementation and management of Advanced Process Control (APC) applications.
• Implement control system changes for managed changes and small projects.
• Provide support for Safety Instrumented System (SIS) and instrumented independent protection layer lifecycle management, including proof testing.
• Create instructions and provide training on control subjects to Operations, I&E Maintenance, and Technical personnel as needed.
• Offer control engineering support for both planned and unplanned shutdowns and unit turnarounds.
• Perform daily support activities for operations, including reviewing bypass and install permits, and participating in issue investigations.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required.
• Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in process control engineering.

Technical Skills and Operational Support

• Evaluate new process schemes and designs concerning merit and feasibility.
• Responsible for instrumentation device selection, including sizing and selection of control valves and measurement devices.
• Manage control loop performance and tuning, encompassing troubleshooting of sensors, controllers, and final elements.
• Support site control system off-hour call-out duties as needed.
