About Tasnee and the Role

Tasnee (National Industrialization Co.), established in 1985, is the Saudi private sector's first fully owned joint-stock industrial company, focused on advancing economic diversification in Saudi Arabia. Headquartered in Riyadh, Tasnee is seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join its team in Al Jubail. This full-time position reports directly to the Superintendent, Loss Control.

Role Summary

The Process Safety Engineer supports the development and implementation of safety processes and procedures. This role is crucial for ensuring a safe, incident-free operational environment and for cultivating a strong safety culture throughout Tasnee.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review processes for process-related hazards and propose interventions to ensure safe operational activity.
  • Incorporate safety precautions, mechanisms, and standards into operating procedures and systems applicable to operational, engineering, and maintenance activities.
  • Continuously update knowledge on international and industry safety best practices to make pertinent recommendations.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of high-risk operational, maintenance, and new project activities, preparing risk assessments and suggesting control measures.
  • Maintain the organization's risk profiling with monitoring mechanisms during different stages of plant operations.
  • Study existing and new engineering projects and processes from design and construction perspectives, suggesting and incorporating safety standards for both construction and operating phases.
  • Provide safety guidelines prior to and during alterations and modifications to existing engineering systems to prevent incidents.
  • Identify new safety hazards likely to occur due to alterations or modifications and recommend control measures.
  • Inspect sites regularly and conduct surveys on accident-prone areas for compliance with safe working procedures and standards.
  • Lead investigations for minor incidents independently and participate in investigation teams for major incidents.
  • Brief team members on safety procedures, carry out root cause analysis, and draft investigation reports for management review.
  • Assist with the development of awareness and training programs designed to instruct employees on Process Safety issues.
  • Recommend and implement department policies and procedures to ensure quality and cost-effective service delivery to internal customers.
  • Coach colleagues and share technical expertise to promote teamwork and cooperation within and across departments.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls.
  • Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • More than 2 years of experience within a reputed Oil & Gas organization.
  • Proven successful records of efficiency, performance, and achievements in a relevant field.
