Tasnee, established in 1985, is the Saudi private sector's first fully owned joint-stock industrial company, dedicated to advancing economic diversification in Saudi Arabia. We are seeking a Process Safety Engineer to join our team in Al Jubail, KSA. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in maintaining operational safety.

Purpose of the Process Safety Engineer Role

The primary purpose of this role is to support the development and implementation of robust safety processes and procedures. The Process Safety Engineer contributes to ensuring a safe, incident-free environment and fostering a proactive safety culture throughout Tasnee's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Review processes for potential hazards and propose interventions to ensure safe operational activity.
• Incorporate safety precautions, mechanisms, and standards to establish safe operating procedures and systems applicable to operational, engineering, and maintenance activities.
• Maintain current knowledge of international and industry safety best practices to provide pertinent recommendations.
• Conduct detailed analyses of operational, maintenance, and new project activities with potentially significant risks prior to commencement, preparing risk assessments and suggesting control measures.
• Maintain organizational risk profiling with monitoring mechanisms throughout different stages of plant operations.
• Study existing and new engineering projects and processes from a design and construction perspective, suggesting and incorporating safety standards and specifications to ensure a safe working environment during construction and operating phases.
• Provide guidelines on safety aspects before and during alterations and modifications to existing engineering systems to prevent incidents.
• Identify new safety hazards likely to arise from alterations or modifications and recommend control measures.
• Regularly inspect sites and conduct surveys on accident-prone areas to ensure compliance with safe working procedures and standards.
• Investigate minor incidents independently and participate in investigation teams for major incidents.
• Brief team members on safety procedures and systems related to accidents, conduct root cause analyses, and draft investigation reports for management review.
• Assist in the development of awareness and training programs designed to instruct employees on Process Safety issues.
• Make recommendations on and implement departmental policies and procedures covering all areas of department activity to deliver quality, cost-effective service to internal customers.
• Provide coaching to colleagues and share technical expertise with peers to promote teamwork and cooperation within and across departments.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant safety, quality, and environmental procedures, instructions, and controls to guarantee safety, product/service quality, and environmental compliance.
• Perform other related duties or assignments as directed.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Safety Engineering.

Required Experience and Skills

• More than 2 years of experience within a reputable Oil & Gas organization.
• Proven successful records of efficiency, performance, and achievements.

Reporting and Location

This full-time position is based in Al Jubail, KSA, and reports directly to the Superintendent, Loss Control.
