About the Role

Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking a dedicated Fleet Incharge to oversee daily fleet operations. This full-time position is based in Al Jubail, Eastern Province, Saudi Arabia, and is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency and compliance within the company's fleet management.

Role Overview

The Fleet Incharge will be responsible for the comprehensive management of the fleet, focusing on cost control, optimizing efficiency, effective driver management, and ensuring strict adherence to all compliance and documentation requirements. This role requires a proactive approach to resolving operational challenges and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Daily Fleet Operations: Assign transport orders to drivers based on location, load type, and working hours. Optimize routes and minimize empty kilometers using Wialon/Geotab fleet platforms. Live-track all trucks and resolve urgent issues such as breakdowns, checkpoints, and delays. Ensure driver compliance with TGA working/rest hour regulations.
  • Cost Control & Efficiency Monitoring: Monitor daily diesel consumption per truck via FLS sensor and issue deviation reports. Analyze causes of high fuel consumption and coach underperforming drivers. Schedule preventive maintenance for each truck based on mileage to avoid breakdowns. Track tire life, oil, and filters to reduce unplanned maintenance costs.
  • Driver Management: Prepare shift rosters and leave schedules for drivers to ensure uninterrupted operations. Evaluate driver performance monthly using KPIs such as fuel efficiency, on-time delivery, violations, and accidents. Train new drivers on tracking systems, company policy, and eco-driving techniques. Investigate accidents/traffic violations and submit recommendations to management.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Verify the validity of operating cards, MVPI, insurance, and driver licenses. Issue transport documents via the Naql platform and monitor cargo manifests via Bayan. Archive diesel, maintenance, and weighbridge invoices and reconcile with system reports. Submit weekly reports to senior management covering costs, revenue, issues, and completion rates.

Performance Indicators

Performance in this role will be measured against key indicators, including:

  • Average Fuel Consumption
  • Fleet Utilization Rate (trucks operating daily)
  • On-Time Delivery (percentage of trips delivered on schedule)
  • Cost per Kilometer
  • Empty Kilometers (percentage of total monthly mileage)
  • Accidents & Violations (with a target of zero major accidents)
