Job Description
About the Fleet Incharge Role
Abdullah A. Al-Barrak & Son Co. is seeking an experienced Fleet Incharge to oversee daily fleet operations in Al Jubail. This full-time position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in fleet management and a strong understanding of logistics and operational efficiency.
Fleet Operations Management
The Fleet Incharge will be responsible for the efficient management of daily fleet activities. This includes assigning transport orders to drivers, optimizing routes to minimize empty kilometers using platforms like Wialon/Geotab, and live-tracking all trucks to promptly address urgent issues such as breakdowns, checkpoints, and delays. Ensuring driver adherence to TGA working and rest hour regulations is also a key responsibility.
Cost Control and Efficiency Monitoring
A significant aspect of this role involves monitoring and controlling operational costs. This includes tracking daily diesel consumption per truck via FLS sensors, issuing deviation reports, and analyzing the root causes of high fuel consumption to coach underperforming drivers. Proactive maintenance is crucial, involving the scheduling of preventive maintenance for each truck based on mileage to avoid breakdowns. The Fleet Incharge will also track tire life, oil, and filter status to reduce unplanned maintenance expenses.
Driver Management and Performance
Effective driver management is essential for uninterrupted operations. This role requires preparing shift rosters and leave schedules for drivers. Driver performance will be evaluated monthly against key performance indicators (KPIs) including fuel efficiency, on-time delivery, violations, and accidents. The Fleet Incharge will also be responsible for training new drivers on tracking systems, company policies, and eco-driving techniques, as well as investigating accidents and traffic violations and submitting recommendations to management.
Compliance and Documentation
Ensuring regulatory compliance is a core function. This involves verifying the validity of operating cards, MVPI, insurance, and driver licenses. The Fleet Incharge will issue transport documents via the Naql platform and monitor cargo manifests through Bayan. Archiving invoices for diesel, maintenance, and weighbridges, and reconciling them with system reports are also required. Weekly reports detailing costs, revenue, issues, and completion rates will be submitted to senior management.
Performance Indicators and Targets
Success in this role will be measured against specific performance indicators, including average fuel consumption, fleet utilization rate (trucks operating daily), on-time delivery rates, cost per kilometer, and minimizing empty kilometers as a percentage of total monthly mileage. The target for accidents and violations is zero major accidents.
