HSE Site Lead

About Air Products and the Role

Air Products is seeking an HSE Site Lead to join their team in Al Jubail, Eastern region. This full-time position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience and is central to implementing the company's Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) strategy at the site level. The role focuses on fostering a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary competent authority and focal point for all HSE matters on site.
• Lead the implementation of the company's HSSE strategy and systems.
• Represent the company with regulatory and government authorities regarding HSSE.
• Provide guidance and technical support to operations management and employee-led safety committees on HSSE risk identification and control.
• Develop, implement, train, and enforce HSSE policies and procedures consistent with company requirements and local best practices.
• Conduct internal HSSE assessments and assurance audits, reporting performance regularly.
• Design and execute HSSE campaigns to enhance safety culture and awareness.
• Collect and analyze HSSE performance data weekly for accuracy and remediation.
• Maintain and regularly update the company's legal compliance register.
• Perform site safety assessments and validate adherence to safety processes.
• Engage in emergency planning, ensuring effective plans are developed, implemented, tested, and evaluated, and that staff receive necessary training.
• Lead and participate in incident investigations to determine root causes and develop preventative measures.
• Identify good practices and lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce worker risks.
• Lead the development of staff and contractor HSSE training needs analysis and calendars.
• Monitor contractor HSSE management program implementation and address deviations.
• Participate in government department meetings concerning safety, environmental, and fire protection.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or HSE, registered as an HSE Practitioner (Associate) in Saudi Arabia.
• Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in operations within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• 3-5 years of progressive site-based HSE leadership experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge and track record in delivering health, safety, and environmental management systems.
• Knowledge of applicable local and national codes and regulations.
• Certified trainer certification is required.
