Saudi Industrial Investment Group (SIIG), in partnership with Chevron Phillips Chemical Company LLC through its affiliate Arabian Chevron Phillips Petrochemical Company (ACP), operates two 50/50 joint ventures in Al Jubail, Eastern Province: Saudi Chevron Phillips Company (SCP) and Jubail Chevron Phillips Company (JCP). A third joint venture, Saudi Polymers Company (SPCo), is jointly owned by ACP and National Petrochemical Company (Petrochem).

The Role of Legal Counsel

SIIG is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide comprehensive commercial legal services, support, and advice to S-Chem and its related entities. This full-time position, based in Al Jubail, Eastern Province, is crucial for ensuring compliance with the legal framework governing business operations and protecting the company's interests.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on agreements and contracts related to routine operations, assisting in negotiations and communications to protect business interests and minimize legal exposure.
• Conduct and support negotiations and communications with counterparties and other representatives on behalf of S-Chem.
• Assist the General Counsel with legal and ethical compliance requirements applicable to S-Chem and its staff.
• Offer advice and observations in the design and development of operating policies and organizational programs to mitigate potential risks associated with local and internal laws.
• Prepare initial drafts of contracts, agreements, and other documents within the purview of the Legal Department.
• Support compliance-related investigations and assist in managing legal disputes through negotiations or court litigations.
• Prepare, evaluate, and revise legal, commercial, and business documents, contracts, agreements, and official correspondences to ensure sound legal standing.
• Support legal matters and their resolution by conducting external market research in a legal context, covering processes of suppliers, vendors, and regulatory compliance (*, Zakat/VAT, Tax, insurance).
• Evaluate litigation cases, discuss facts and circumstances with relevant parties, and develop action plans for successful resolution.
• Liaise with external counsel and other suppliers engaged to support the Legal Department.
• Maintain control and strict confidentiality of legal, business, and commercial documentation under standard operating procedures.
• Perform other relevant tasks as directed by the General Counsel.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Law.
• A minimum of 2-3 years of post-qualification experience, with a total of 4-5 years of experience including training.
• Licensed and qualified to act as a lawyer/attorney-at-law in Saudi Arabia or possess an equivalent legal qualification in another jurisdiction.
• Demonstrated exposure to legal practice in English, including the analysis, drafting, review, and negotiation of international commercial agreements and cross-border transactions.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in the industrial city of Al Jubail, Eastern Province, within a dynamic joint venture environment.
