The Role: Plant Shift DCS Operator

Linde Jubail Industrial Gases Factory LLC is seeking a Plant Shift DCS Operator for a full-time position in Al Jubail, Saudi Arabia. This role is central to ensuring the efficient and safe operation of plants by managing the Distributed Control System (DCS) during shifts. The operator will be responsible for monitoring process parameters, coordinating with field operators, and responding to abnormalities to maintain production targets and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate the DCS for plant startup and shutdown operations to achieve production targets and company objectives.
• Monitor and control all process parameter conditions, including flow rates, pressures, temperatures, and levels, using displays, graphics, and trend logs.
• Communicate with field operators to facilitate parameter adjustments in the field.
• Report immediately to Shift Supervisors in cases of parameter abnormalities and process deviations.
• Make minor plant adjustments as necessary and report serious faults to the Supervisor, implementing approved remedial actions, procedures, and standard emergency responses promptly.
• Take immediate corrective actions during emergency situations to limit risks to personnel, plant equipment, and production.
• Monitor and control the usage of raw materials, chemicals, and other plant utilities effectively and safely to an optimum level.
• Prepare and assist in the preparation of necessary plant operational reports as requested by the Production Supervisor or Team Leader.
• Ensure the safe shutdown, isolation, and blowdown of relevant sections or plants during emergency situations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role should possess between 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in plant operations, specifically with Distributed Control Systems. The position requires a professional who can operate effectively in a dynamic industrial environment and adhere to strict safety protocols.
